This October I'm working on a new project that I'm really excited to announce. I'm going to be opening an Etsy store shortly! I've been working for the past couple of weeks on some stock to sell, starting with rough prototypes and working up to differently styled sell-able merch. The Product? Leather Masks and Armor pieces for cosplay and costumes.
My first step was to create a paper pattern. I needed something that fit the face well and was comfortable. So several attempts were made in paper first before being transferred to the leather.
Next up was to create a leather version of the half mask. With the stitching in place these masks have a distinctly steam punk look about them.
The last step I've completed so far is to attach the straps to the mask. I'm really excited with the progress I've made so far, and I can't wait to get some finished version ready to sell. I'll be opening my new Etsy store at the end of October and it should be fully stocked by the end of November. Keep an eye out, and any suggestions for designs would be appreciated!
